Phat Platters proves to be another of the few restaurant options inspired by the Halal carts of New York City. They have their signature “White” and “Hot” sauces that are also available for sale in both 8 oz and 12 oz bottles. Be sure to ask for a couple of the white or red sauce containers to accompany your delivery. This place is pumping out the Phat Platters continuously during the lunch and dinner hours.
Aside from their Phat Platters, they offer Schwarma Panini, Gyro, burgers, Phat Sandwiches, Salads and Wings.
Since they serve only Halal food – you can try “beef bacon” to accompany your order.
The mixed platter with extra protein is my go-to dish which requires me to grab a large stack of napkins to continually wipe the perspiration off my face.
Ample parking is found in the rear of the building or on the street.
Jersey Farmer’s Market has been around for years and has grown in a quality market. When you enter the store, a giant Pineapple Welcome Banner greets you. Then you will notice that there is an amazing florist in their section the left. Further along their left wall, you will find the seafood counter is fully stocked with fresh fish and seafood.
Right after the seafood counter is a fully stocked spice section, bread and then dried fruits and nuts. But this market is known for their consistent quality with their fresh fruits and vegetables. Unlike other farmers markets, your produce should keep for a while before it spoils.
I almost left out the best part! Sushi! This market has their in-house sushi take-out window between the florist and seafood counter. The previous sushi chef retired and now the new chef is making a name for himself. Be sure to grab a menu to call in your order or place your order at the beginning of your shopping trip.
After you check-out, and if you didn’t pick up any sushi, you can visit Juicy Platters located in the same building as the market. Try (a little bit) of their “Spicy AF” hot sauce at Juicy Platters where they whip up rice, salad or gyro platters at reasonable prices.

When sending your grocery list please ensure it is finalized as we can no longer accept add-ons.”
Note 2: Curb side pick-up (Call ahead) no minimums will apply*****
Note 3: Don’t forget that curb side pickup is available for for adult beverages and libations.
Note: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak – I exclusively use Wolfsons’ curbside pick-up for all my grocery shopping. I have found that Instacart, Peapod and Shoprite deliveries and pick-ups are no longer available. My last two orders through Instacart were cancelled after waiting days for completion. I highly recommend Wolfson’s Market for their service and their quality. And don’t forget beer, wine and liquor which can help with everyone’s quarantine experience.
Family owned Wolfson’s Market has just about reached landmark status and continues to operate with helpful and happy employees. Wolfson’s is more than just a convenient store and more of a market. Unlike the mega-supermarkets that can take you 15 minutes to pick up a gallon of milk, this enclave has everything you need seemingly within an arms reach, at reasonable prices. Their sign listing sums up what they’re about “Liquor, Wine, Beer, Grocery, Deli, Meats” But they should add catering as well.
The address is listed as 480 Boonton Turnpike – but you can enter from either of the side streets as well. The parking lot is a little tricky, but the spaces are clearly marked. Near the door is the locked cage for propane tank swaps.
You enter by passing through a small alcove that might house firewood, charcoal and large 5 gallon water cooler bottles right near the two registers where they sell cigarettes and lottery tickets. To the right, is the refrigerated dairy case. The deli counter is in the rear of the store.
In the rear-left of the store is the liquor section and front-left is a small produce section. They have many kitchen gadgets above the produce section.
There are a couple of aisles of spices, & dry goods, groceries and they will most likely have what you need.
The deli counter has prepared salads, warm pre-made food and is staffed by generally smiley people. They really pride themselves on their catering and create artistic, flavorful dishes and platters for your party or events.
Please let us know about your experiences with Wolfson’s Market in the comments below and be sure to spread the word!
Be sure to grab a warm loaf of the oil or garlic bread near the check-out before leaving!
Giant Farmers Market Hackensack offers farm fresh produce, meats, seafood and deli items at reasonable prices in Bergen County. See the bottom of this article for the location of the sale items.
The address is listed as 324 Main Street – but the parking lot is in the back on River Street. The parking lot is a little tricky, At the time of my visit, they were under renovation. Note, that you can enter from River Street, as well as the two side streets (East Berry and Passaic Streets). Your best exit is on Passaic Street to which has traffic lights on the Main Street and River Street intersections.
Once you finished parking in the maze of a parking lot, and stroll past any produce/plants/specials that are outside as you enter in the back. Then, beyond the cash registers, you will see the deli, meat, and seafood counters.
The deli counter offers the finest Boar’s Head selections. The meat counter is a full-fledged butcher and a lot of offerings. And finally, the seafood counter is a mini version of a port city fish market.
In the produce section, you will find seasonal offerings as well as the old staples. And you can find produce that is not readily available at your local supermarkets. (i.e. Dragonfruit!)
They also offer other standard canned and boxed grocery items in about 25% of the store.
Sale Items: The best deals can be had on the selections by the door when you enter near the parking lot. You won’t find better deals.
They take Debit Cards, EBT, Cash, AMEX, Visa, Discover, and Mastercard.
